In 2009, I followed a whim to audition for a local theatre company and was cast. Two weeks into rehearsals, I began writing plays. I’ve since had several one-act and shorts produced.

In a Doll’s Life – comedy
CASTING: Three women 50s, 40s & 18; one man 40s
RUN TIME: 25 minutes

SYNOPSIS: Barbie has just turned 50 and is taking no guff. Her mistress, Tess, is cute if a bit too sentimental, but Gene, Tess’s husband, is a complete waste. The tedium of their household is broken when baby doll Leila joins the family. Barbie has fun prodding Leila toward a little feminist liberation. Then a major fight with Gene pushes Tess into the dolls’ world. Tess is a lot more interesting when she can respond to Barbie’s advances.

SYNOPSIS: Dani thinks it’s past time her niece knew the truth about love. Only, Dani is the one who must learn.

RUN TIME: 10 minutes

PRODUCTION: In “Talking Out of School,” Mercury Players Theatre, Madison, Wisconsin, 2012
SYNOPSIS: Maybe Dr. Peres only teaches science classes in an elementary school because she couldn’t get a research job, but it turns out she loves it. The kids like her just fine. It’s other teachers – aided by her own conscience – that cause the problems.
